In April this year we headed out to New York City! If you missed my previous post, my initial intent was to take my beautiful (gf at the time) now fiancee down to propose. You can read about that here: http://www.codyjames.ca/2014/04/welcome-to-nyc/
This was basically the highlight of the trip though!
BUT! Beyond this, I did take photos! So here’s some shots of the beautiful NYC!
The first blog I’ll release on these shots will be the B&W series, almost all of these are architecture photos! Nice to add some to my portfolio as it’s heavy on the nature/landscape side. I’m also hoping my trip to San Fransisco in one week will also bolster that lineup as well!
Not to boast too much, but I became a master of the subway while we were down there, we navigated throughout the city, going up to the Bronx and down through to Brooklyn, catching everything from the new one WTC, Brooklyn Nets, Yankees, times square, SOHO, and so much more.
The infamous flat iron building! You can find one of these in Edmonton though if you live in the great north! 🙂
One night we decided to go out and snap some shots, it rained! So we took cover and grabbed some shots like this.
The tips of these buildings were smoked out by the low hanging fog.
One of my favorite spots, the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge! Although be weary, there are bicycle lanes and those guys don’t mess around! We observed and learned early, but saw tons of people get clipped, yelled at, and cause ruckus!
Another view from the Brooklyn Bridge, viewing Manhattan.
Some more of the Brooklyn Bridge!
We grabbed some pizza at one of the infamous Brooklyn Pizza spots (Grimaldi’s) and then checked out the surrounding area (including the cobble stone roads) that leads you to a view of the Manhattan Bridge and the Empire State building.
Peaking through some construction, I was feeling very patriotic 😉
