Calgary Stampede Western Showcase Photographer Cody James Submits his work for approval and entry into the show.

I have submitted my 10 entries to the western showcase this year. I have been involved with the Calgary Stampede for the last three years, it has been getting better every year and I hope I am able to continue to be involved for many more!
The deadline is February 28th so I waited last minute to get my entries in, I was actually hoping to get out one last time this weekend but wasn’t able due to work and other scheduling conflicts!

Anyways, here are my 10 entries this year. My very first year I had 2 images at the Stampede, the second year I had 6, and last year 4. Also, the images are hosted on Flickr & all the exif and info is on there if you click the image.

It’s hard to giveĀ  any justice to the beautiful scenery that we saw this past Saturday. The snow was falling, wind was blowing, and the forest looked so enticing and welcoming.

This picture was taken in 2008, I was going through my archives and stumbled across it. I remember editing this a few years back and now have finally gotten around to putting the finishing touches on it. It’s titled ‘Diadem’ as the top of the mountain resembles a crown.
