2013 Calgary Stampede western photo showcase – Calgary photographer Cody James shares a blog post on the Western Oasis.
Attention Calgary Stampede goers! If my prints are sold out, please contact me here: http://www.codyjames.ca/contact-form/ – I will be placing an order post Calgary Stampede, which includes framed canvases, stretched canvases, and rolled canvases.
This year was one of the biggest orders I’ve ever placed for the Stampede, in the order I also picked up 7 new prints for the newly furnished Interactive Health Physiotherapy clinic where they ordered a variety of wicked prints from my popular nature fine art to my rad new Jelly Fish shots in Thailand.
First things first, here’s a small glimpse of the Stampede order! My home office is packed wall to wall with prints (all very large) with one tube of rolled canvases! If you’re not familiar, every year the Calgary Stampede hosts a wicked little ‘Western Showcase’ in the BMO Centres Western Oasis. You can see the entries for the 2013 Calgary Stampede Western Showcase here: http://westernshowcase.com/selected-photos.php – You can also scroll through previous years and see work that has been featured in the past. Personally I have participated in the showcases photographic endeavors since its inception in 2008. It is presently the only place where my work is ever displayed/sold.
This year I have four images that I will proudly be displaying at the Calgary Stampede, they range from vicious panoramic storms, to beautiful sunsets on a rail road track, and a more abstract ‘Peter Lik‘ inspired piece featuring some trees in Kananaskis.
I’m also happy to share that my photography will be displayed at the Interactive Health Physiotherapy Clinic in the NW of Calgary.
I had three Jelly Fish images printed, I used some advanced Photoshop techniques to really make he colours pop and the jelly fish stand out. I also did a compilation image of the Jelly fish which I will share in a later blog post that turned out absolutely awesome. I do have extras printed, if you’re interested in a Calgary Fine Art Print these prints are roughly 22X40 and sell for $375.
Be sure when you head down to the Calgary Stampede this year to make a visit into the Calgary Stampede western showcase ‘oasis’ to view my prints and pick up a copy for yourself!
